For family days and landscapes that amaze… Start at The Sill!
Description
Northumberland National Park Authority is a conservation organisation. Of the 13 National Parks in England and Wales, Northumberland is the most northerly, most remote from large urban areas, least visited and least populated.
Our Learning Programme covers a wide range of subjects, with activities linked to the National Curriculum which utilise the unique culture, history and landscapes of the Northumberland National Park. Indoor and outdoor sessions led in school, in our visitor centre The Sill, and out on sites in the Park make the most of what Northumberland has to offer.
We believe that the learning experience within Northumberland National Park can help people identify their place in the landscape of Northumberland no matter where they come from, fostering a sense of ownership and care of both this area and their own local environment. From pre history to habitats, inspiring art to beautiful rivers, there is a wealth of learning opportunities waiting to be explored.
