Description
The Lincolnsfields Centre provides a variety of exciting experiences led by our enthusiastic team, catering to the needs of children, young people and adults whether they visit us for a residential journey with their school or community group, a school day evacuee visit to the 1940’s Experience, or attend our open day event on the last Sunday of every month (children with an accompanying adult).
Our primary role is the Residential Centre where we offer either our one of a kind Children at War experience or an environmental/team building activities programme to enable groups under adult supervision to spend time away, typically for 3 days and 2 nights in a safe and secure environment.
Our secondary role is the 1940’s Day Visit Experience. The day enables visitors to experience how life was as a child evacuee during WW2. Our hands on sessions include 1940’s house, School Room, Dig for Victory Garden, the experience of the Blitz and a visit to the Museum. These sessions are run by both volunteers, some of which were evacuee children themselves! and our staff members.
Our Residential Centre is also available for self catered groups and for groups that use the Centres facilities to run their own programmes and activities.
The Lincolnsfields Centre is situated within the M25 on the North side of London in Bushey near Watford, Hertfordshire. We are located on what was originally the site of Bushey Hall – the wartime location of the USAAF 8th Fighter Command Headquarters 1942 – 1945 and is a unique WW2 Heritage site.
Sharing our site are a number of other organisations and community groups who provide a wide range of other activities and services such as Lincolnsfields PlayZone (Soft Play) which, is part of the Centre itself and we incorporate the use of for our residential bookings.
