NWT Cley Marshes

Saving Norfolk's Wildlife for the Future

Description

NWT Cley Marshes, is situated on the stunning North Norfolk, 6km from Holt. The nature reserve provides groups with great opportunities to explore both coastal and wetland habitats. The Simon Aspinall Wildlife Education centre provides a fantastic facility and base for education sessions. The panoramic view across the Marshes is spectacular and the variety of wildlife at Cley makes for an unforgettable day.

Cley Marshes is steeped in history: it is one of the oldest nature reserves in the country and has provided a blue print for nature conservation. Become part of this landscape, booking your group a guided walk onto the marshes. Or how about a Brilliant Birds session as it is one of the country’s most popular bird watching spots. Your group could explore the shingle beach and learn all about our incredible marine wildlife.

Your day here will reflect the landscape, habitats and history of Cley Marshes, whilst complimenting your school-based learning, as we tailor-make a timetable that suits your group’s requirements.

We have a wide selection of interactive and hands-on activities that appeal to all ages and learning styles. The overall aim of all our sessions is to inspire pupils about the natural world and to encourage a caring approach for Norfolk’s wildlife.

(July 2023 - Primary School)

(September 2022 - Primary School & Secondary School)

Sessions led by the North Norfolk Wildlife Trust - birdwatching and erosion of sea defences - were both excellent. Lots for the children to do, well resourced and led by staff. (May 2022 - Primary School)

Great exercises to do with the children, they had lots of fun and did some good science! (June 2019 - Secondary School)

Adapatations were made by the NWT leaders as we were slightly late arriving due to traffic delay from MK.Leaders were excellent and very well suited to working with children. Birdwatching and the coastal talks were spot on and supported our studies well. (June 2019 - Primary School)

(July 2018 - Primary School)

(April 2018 - Secondary School)
