Description
Cliffe House is a forma Victorian Manor House set in 11 acres of mature woodland. We offer adventurous activities both on and off-site and hold the LOtC Quality Badge and operate under an AALA Licence.
Around 6,000 children from all over Kirklees arrive at Cliffe House each year to experience a residential stay varying in length from one to four nights or an educational day visit with our outdoor learning team. They leave having learned a lot about the environment - and themselves - with memories that last a lifetime.
We believe every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom as part of a broad and balanced curriculum.
Here at Cliffe House we provide a blend of both educational and adventure focussed activities, delivered by experienced and qualified staff.
Onsite activities: Archery, Bushcraft, Climbing Wall, Crate Stacking, Monkey Tree Climb, Teambuilding, Orienteering, Pond Studies, Woodland Studies, Picture Trails, Walking, Mine,
Offsite activities: Climbing, Abseiling, Caving, Canoeing, Stand up Paddleboard, Raft Building, Walking, Kayaking
Our programmes can support KS1, KS2 Curriculum and beyond with focus on geography, history and sciences.
Duke of Edinburgh elements can also be supported as we hold the DofE Approved Activity Provider (AAP) along with Paddle UK (British Canoeing) accreditation, National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) and National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS).
Immersing young people in an active and engaging environment encourages them to learn whilst having fun together. Our inclusive ethos ensures young people feel confident to push their own boundaries; increasing personal development with an improved awareness of self, of others, and the natural world around them.
