Runway's End Outdoor Centre

Find it outdoors

Description

Located in North Hampshire, near Farnborough, our centre offers a woodland retreat in a sub-urban setting. We boast modern accommodation options including a Forge Lodge that sleeps 71 people, the Camping Pods which sleep 40 people and a large camp site.

With Basingstoke Canal on our doorstep, we can offer kayaking, canoeing and raft building as adventurous activities. We also have a huge range of land-based activities including a large climbing and abseiling tower, an artificial caving system, archery and air rifle shooting ranges, team building activities and a high ropes course.

The Centre operates in partnership with Rushmoor Borough Council and Blackwater Valley Scouts.

Good facilities (May 2023 - Primary School)

(November 2022 - Primary School)

Teamwork, challenge and independence. (April 2022 - Primary School)

Nice centre with helpful and friendly staff. Children particularly enjoyed the water based activities. Some activities were familiar and not that exciting, such as shelter building. We had not realised that some activities were not instructor led, such as campfire and orienteering. The lodge was satisfactory and the food was very good and plentiful, but we had issues with a child who had a nut allergy - some of the food provided was not nut free. Luckily we double checked. There was also nowhere to 'relax' the only chairs were the dining chairs, which made it quite uncomfortable for staff who were up early and in bed very late. (October 2021 - Primary School)
