Fantastic, hands on learning experience to enhance learning of lifecycles and plants. The children loved the minibeast hunting activity and found lots of interesting bugs around the reserve! The only thing I would do if I was to book again would be to book for later in the year. March was too early for the plant identification workshops as there was nothing really in bloom yet and the tree identification was a little bit too advanced for the children at this age. This was our first visit, so we had a package bought 'off the shelf'. If we go again, we may ask for a more bespoke activity. (June 2023 - Secondary School)

Venue focuses on the education of students. Some 'exciting' activities for reward trips would be appreciated. (November 2022 - Secondary School)

Brilliantly run session by an RSPB leader. She was very informative and good with the children. She explained things well and the children were engaged. We used it as an introduction to Living Things and Their Habitats but it would have also made a good plenary visit at the end of the topic. (June 2022 - Primary School)

Children very much enjoyed their day at Fairburn. It was very well organised and led. What a great time! (May 2019)

Knowledgeable staff who really responded to the children. Fantastic facility. Pupils totally engaged throughout because of the fantastic activities and staff direction. (November 2018 - Primary School)

(September 2018 - Primary School)

Amazing. We really enjoyed our trip. Andy from the centre was fantastic, really engaged the children and enthused them about the day (February 2018 - Primary School)

Andy Rayner was an amazing host, very engaging and inspiring and his subject knowledge was phenomenal! The children thoroughly enjoyed their hands on, investigative trip to Fairburn Ings. (February 2018 - Primary School)
