(November 2024 - Secondary School)

I don't feel as though there was a large amount of learning that the children took from the toys workshop. The boxes of delight from the Discovery Museum offered a better experience and were more cost effective for the children in my opinion. (October 2024 - Primary School)

some of the organised events were not accessible for our special needs kids. The stories were too complex. (September 2024 - Primary School)

Beamish has gone cashless which spoiled the experience for the children as they used to love the sweet shop and fair rides. Additionally, the mine was closed and the steam train was either not there or not working- very disappointing. (September 2022)

(July 2022 - Secondary School)

Expensive for what we got from the session. Bad organisation from Beamish staff, changing our venue/location without prior notice, not having signs as to where the session was being held. (June 2022 - Primary School)

The suffragette workshop was brilliant. The children were fully involved and had an excellent time. The participation from the other staff around Beamish was brilliant. A great experience overall. (April 2022 - Primary School)

The Education Lead at the Museum was extremely helpful prior to the visit. A pre visit is a must as your trip leader needs to see the museum, as it is huge, to plan your trip well. Staff extremely helpful on site and the museum itself is really engaging. (March 2022 - Secondary School)

Absolutely brilliant. So much to see. The 'Just One Spark' workshop was really engaging and definitely worthwhile. Really brings our local and mining heritage alive. (March 2022 - Primary School)

The children gained lots of hands on, practical experiences on the trip and were very excited about the real life scenarios that they were able to see and participate in throughout the day. The day ran very smoothly and staff could not have been more helpful when needed. The trip provided lots of experiences that the children might not get to have elsewhere. The children were asking thoughtful questions and wanted to find out more about the Victorian way of life. (March 2022 - Primary School)

(September 2021 - Primary School)

Very helpful when we needed to take a group bacl to school due to a Covid notification. Informative and much enjoyed by the children. (August 2021 - Secondary School)

(December 2019 - Primary School)

Knowledgeable staff and generally safe environment. A visiting group of teenagers did cause some worry due to their behaviour but this was an isolated incident that our staff were more than capable of handling. (November 2019 - Primary School)

Absolutely fantastic day - workshops were outstanding. Children loved it! Well worth a visit (November 2018 - Primary School)

The museum itself is always a pleasure to visit. Quite expensive at £6 per child especially as they were unable to accommodate us for lunch. (October 2018 - Primary School)
