A good trip, it would be great if students could see how they produce apple products and not just the shop. Healthy and vegetarian and vegan food should be provided instead of mainly fast food. (November 2023 - Secondary School)

Poor organisation from their end. Initially booked the wrong ferry departure time by 24 hours, wrote the wrong name on all documentation sent to us (Horbury School rather than Horbury Academy) and also gave the wrong address and restaurant name for the meal in the first day. I wanted to take our first trip to France to a venue which was safe and secure. The idea of a large city trip was quickly dismissed, so I picked the chateau and Travelbound. The setting was fine but I needed to adjust the itinerary to suit an older set of students as most of the suggested activities were geared at upper primary/KS3 students. The trip was very well organised and communication was easy. A couple of things didn't go as planned: 1. The lunch vouchers at the ferry did not work so we spent at least half an hour waiting until this was solved. 2. Ice skating: the company didn't have access to our tickets. An excellent company, kept in touch frequently. There were some issues with timings that had to be adjusted on the trip because it was not possible to get to certain places in the timeframe allocated. Initially, very good service. However, the itinerary was not well organised or communicated. The departure time had been communicated on repeated itineraries as 1.30am. On the final itinerary it suddenly changed to 3am and I had to make calls to all parents to communicate this. One of our bookings had the time as 15.30 on the voucher but when we arrived they had expected us at 11am and this had been the booked time. Luckily, we were still able to continue as the attraction accommodated us. The times given to attractions were far too long and we did a lot of work to fill time effectively, searching out other activities that we could do for free. Travel timings were hugely overestimated with an hour given to complete a 15 minute journey, for example. (July 2019 - Secondary School)

At all stages of planning, booking etc. for our three Nice study visits, Travelbound have been efficient and effective in every respect. (July 2019 - Secondary School)

First of all, the cost of the trip per student is more expensive for the exactly the same activities as the trip from 2 years ago organised by Langues et Voyages. When one of our student decided she did not to come more than 70 days before departure, Travelbound recalculated the cost which put us in a difficult financial situation when according to their terms and conditions as it happened more than 70 days before departure the cost per student should have remained the same. Secondly, they have allocated us 2 coach drivers when we have always only ever had 1 as we never travel very far from the accommodation centre and we have lots of breaks. When our finance manager queried that they never came back to us with a clear explanation. Thirdly, we have only found out the name of the coach company recently which is not satisfying as I had a meeting with the parents on Monday and thought I wasn't going to be able to give the parents of our students that information. Our Head teacher actually called Travelbound on that point but we were told to wait until we were allocated a coach company by Connections! I phoned Connections myself but they told me to wait! Finally, as my level of trust with the organisation of the trip has been challenged, yesterday I decided to call all the activity centres we are visiting in June to make sure it was all booked and that the times of our visits matched with the provisional itinerary which time schedule was not complete. This means that I had to make these phone calls on my personal time to check that Travelbound had done the work properly. (July 2019 - Primary School)

Our coach was not booked at the correct time on the way up to the airport - had I not rung the coach company we would have missed our flight - they did give us a free drink on the final day but we felt this was quite an oversight at 1:30am. All the excursions were booked and the hotel was lovely - we did find it difficult to communicate with the coach driver provided for our excursions as he didnt speak any English - which caused us problems when it came to directions. The trip was very successful. However I do find I have to work quite hard when organising the trip to get Travelbound to provide the trip we asked for. For example, sometimes times of excursions need to be changed because they aren't right. Travelbound provided excellent assistance in both the planning process and during the trip. Everything ran smoothly. The only blip was some confusion over exact coach routes across the continent (there was a minor issue with the route the coach company wished to take). Travelbound helped resolve this. The accommodation - Markushof, Wagrain, Salzburgerland, Austria This was absolutely fantastic (once again). It is a venue for young people that I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.
