Acorn Adventure - Camping La Savane

Quality Outdoor Adventure trips for schools to the UK & Europe

Description

Acorn is one of the original providers of adventure residentials for schools, groups and families, with over 35 years' experience. We have eight Adventure centres in the UK and Europe and all of our activity centres in France, Italy, Spain and UK have been carefully selected to deliver a high quality outdoor education experience.

Our Ardeche Adventure centre in South of France is a popular school trip destination, often referred to as `the Grand Canyon of Europe` and renowned for its 32km canoe journey through the beautiful limestone gorge.

Location, location, location. Our well-established, private Acorn centre is within easy walking distance of rivers, caves & crags, a 20 minute drive from the river descent and 5 minutes from Ruoms, one of the region’s most charming towns. With a large on-site swimming pool and exclusive accommodation areas for each group, our flagship Ardèche centre is highly rated by our schools & groups. We have a high re-book rate, with many new teachers choosing us initially on price and re-booking due to value, location and staff professionalism.

Life skills, friendship Resilience, organisation, bravery, challenge, problem solving Cultural experience and language skills (July 2023 - Secondary School)

(June 2023)

(June 2022 - Secondary School)

The activity programme was excellent and students thoroughly enjoyed their activities. The only downside was the catering - food was bland and there wasn't enough food provided for an outdoor and adventurous holiday. (September 2019 - Secondary School)

This was a very good trip, but Acorn Adventure did let themselves down in two major areas; food provision; and quality water activities. As this is labelled as a Water Sports trip there needed to be more activity on the water, when some of the activities felt like filler. The staff at the site were very good on the whole, with almost all staff being enthusiastic and willing to support pupils having fun as well as keeping them safe in activities. We have sent groups to the Savane for a number of years and regularly had problems with the food provided. There was a vast improvement this year compared to last, but there is still room to develop here. The trip was a success, but we felt we had to intervene too often at meal times to ensure pupils were well fed and the site would benefit from more water activities. (September 2019 - Secondary School)

acorn adventure provided a great activities for our students (September 2019 - Secondary School)

Activities were very good and the centre was fine, staff were for the majority ok there were some instructors who were rude and short at times. The shower blokes are mixed sex for students and this could have the potential for a future safeguarding issue. I would suggest slitting the two on site to single sex to reduce any issues. (August 2019 - Secondary School)

A Fantastic educational trip based on team work, communication, problem solving and resilience. (July 2019 - Secondary School)

(July 2019 - Secondary School)

An excellent trip thoroughly enjoyed by students and staff! (June 2019 - Secondary School)

Had a night mare of a journey down to the camp site (25hours) No working toilet or air-con on the coach. On the return journey a replacement coach was supplied. Once at the site, a brilliant time was had by all. The Staff are more than willing to help however on two occasions they should have informed me that what I was requesting for an activity could not be accomplished within the staffs time limit. (September 2018 - Secondary School)

fantastic venue, excellent provision of activities in a safe, friendly environment (July 2018 - Secondary School)
