Very engaging and much deeper learning experience for children than a non-specialistic primary teacher could achieve. Particularly engaging for more able children as chance to ask questions of a doctor of astronomy. Excellent pace of presentation and range of experiences from hands-on handling astroid and moon rock, active quiz (finding answers in giant text dispays on wall) and the wonderful immersive dome. Definitely recommended. (April 2024 - Primary School)

Education oficers weren't the most dynamic and it was a long time to stay seated for this age group. (March 2024 - Primary School)

An excellent venue, so close to home and full of wonderful expertise. I would recommend this for any KS2 class studying space and beyond. (November 2022 - Primary School)

I think this trip was aimed for slightly older children. The South Downs Planetarium was very informative but for the age group that I took it would have been better if it was slightly more interactive. (December 2021 - Primary School)

A fantastic place to visit; the children were thrilled and got so much out of it. Dr John Mason is a living legend; his presentations are always so full of detail but pitched just right for children. All COVID precautions were very well handled and staff and children felt safe and supported to have a great learning experience. (October 2020 - Primary School)

Excellent subject knowledge. Volunteer staff were welcoming and well prepared for our visit (October 2019 - Primary School)

The talk was pitched perfectly for our pupils - entertaining and educational. (February 2019 - Primary School)

Excellent visit, volunteers knowledgeable and helpful (January 2018 - Primary School)

All staff are extremely enthusiastic and helpful. Presentation in the star dome was breathtaking. All children thoroughly engaged. Links in well with curriculum for Year 5. All arrangements went smoothly and children did not want to leave. (January 2018 - Primary School)
