We are Field Studies Council, an environmental charity and leaders in outdoor education. We want to inspire your pupils with innovative teaching, and explore diverse learning environments together, to encourage them to care for our natural world.
Field Studies Council Preston Montford, is situated in the heart of Shropshire on the banks of the River Severn with views into Wales. The Centre is set in a 12-hectare estate which is managed to provide a rich range of habitats, including the River Severn Montford SSSI, a semi-ancient woodland growing on a steep bank of glacial drift. Most of the area is grazed fields with hedges, 18th century specimen trees and some more recently planted copses. The eastern side of the estate is an area of more specialised habitats; ponds, wildflower meadow, ancient orchard, the remains of a walled garden and a bee hotel.
Each year over 3,000 school groups, from key stage 1 to university level, visit our centres for geography or science (biology) fieldwork, cross-curricular environmental activity courses, plus outdoor adventure.
Let our education team help transform your classroom theory into real subject knowledge, and harness the adventure found in nature, through hands-on experiences. We live and breathe outdoor education, and want to share our passion with your pupils.

So much is dependent on the ability and experience of the tutor. I've been a few times before so I was able to brief my pupils beforehand and I could talk about alterations with the tutors.
